Day 1 - Airport - Negembo
Welcome to Sri Lanka. After you clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs.
Our representative will be waiting for you with a sign board with your name on it. You will be assisted to the car park for your transfer to your hotel in Negombo which is located close to a beautiful beach.

Day 2 - Negembo - Pinnawela - Dambulla - Giritale
After breakfast you will be taken for your excursion to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage which was started in 1975 to house abandoned or wounded elephants. The orphanage has grown to be a big family and the number of elephants has increased to more than 40 including baby elephants brought from various parts of the island, as well as the babies born in the orphanage as a result of the captive breeding programme. A unique experience not to be missed.
After Pinnawela you will continue on to the Dambulla cave temples. Dambulla is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. The first 3 caves are better, older and larger than the other two. Some caves dates to 1st century B.C. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues & statues of Gods and Kings are also found here.

Day 3 - Giritale - Sigirya - Polonnaruwa - Giritale
After breakfast you will leave for Sigiriya to climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya is home to the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple-moat defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft.
On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour.
In the afternoon you will commence the sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa which was the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th - 13th century .A.D Great revival was achieved in the country, politically, economically and socially during the period of Kings Vijayabahu 1, Parakramabahu 1 and Nissankamalla of the Polonnaruwa period. The monuments are better preserved than those at Anuradhapura and you will find the Parakrama Statue, Royal Palaces, Audience Halls, Vata-da-ge, Thuparama, Rankoth Vehera, Kiri- Vehera, Gal-Vihara, Lankathilaka and Tivanka Image House which are some of the interesting monuments here. Day 4 - Giritale
Breakfast at leisure. You will then be taken to Minneriya National Park where you will enjoy an elephant safari.

Day 5 - Giritale - Matale - Kandy
Breakfast at leisure at the hotel and afterwards you will depart for Kandy with a visit to a Spice Garden in Matale on the way. Here you will be able to see luscious Cinnamons, Cardamons, Pepper plants etc.
You will be given a brief tour of the gardens with an explanation about the various spices grown and their usage - You will also have the chance to purchase your requirements of quality spices at fantastic prices.
After the spice gardens you will continue on your way to Kandy where you will have a city tour including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Kandy known as the hill capital is the venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's, shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession.

Day 6 - KANDY - Peradeniya - Kandy
Breakfast at leisure and in the afternoon you will be taken to Peradeniya to visit the Royal Botanical gardens with an area spanning 147 acres. These gardens were started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the King’s of Kandy.
There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. There is a flourishing growth of huge tropical trees along the lawns and the Orchid house is a prime attraction in this garden with more than 300 varieties of exquisite orchids blooming in profusion.

Day 7 - KANDY - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you will leave for the city of Nuwara Eliya by train, starting from the Kandy railway station. The driver will pick you again up from the Nanu Oya railway station to continue with your visit to Nuwara Eliya. Known as the ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, it is set against a beautiful backdrop of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.
It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.
In the evening you will have a city tour of Nuwara Eliya
followed by dinner at the hotel.

Day 8 - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast you will be taken to visit The Horton Plains (7000ft - 2134m elevation) These are an expanse of misty grassland interrupted by scraggly trees and ice-cold rivulets, nearly uninhabited - they are lonely yet exhilarating. There are birds and rhododendrons and other flora and fauna.
Many visitors come to the Horton Plains to see World’s End, considered the finest view in all of Sri Lanka. The terrific escarpment drops vertically for about 1000ft and falls away almost as steeply for another 4000ft. In the early morning a crescent of silver Indian Ocean rims the horizon 80km to the south.

Day 9 - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Yala
After early breakfast you will leave for Yala via Ella. Ella is blessed with some of the most beautiful views you can find in Sri Lanka. Only 8 km from Bandarawela, this small town is used as a base for trekking expeditions to the surrounding countryside.
A taste of the breathtaking scenery of Ella can be enjoyed by just walking into the Garden of the Grand Ella Motel from where it will seem that you are standing at the edge of the world as everything around you seems to disappear at your feet. Another fine view is from the Ambiente Hotel where the wide doorway opens out to the mountains creating a dramatic cinematic like experience. On the Way to Yala you will also visit the Ravana Waterfalls.

Day 10 - Yala
Breakfast at leisure at the hotel and in the afternoon you will be taken for a jeep Safari at the Yala National Park.
Yala is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. It is a haven for fauna both indigenous and migrant and you will find bird concentrations by the lagoons. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. It is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas in Sri Lanka and harbours 215 bird species including 6 endemic to Sri Lanka. It also has one of the highest Leopard densities in the world and Wild Buffalo & herds of Wild Elephants are also a common sight. Whether it is birds or animals, you have them all at Yala.

Day 11 - Yala - Airport
