For more than a century the camilleri family has been associated with luxury fabrics & high-end interiors in malta. from retailing the finest & most beautiful dress &  furnishing fabrics & offering a personal & professional service to each unique client, camilleriparismode has become one of malta’s leading interior & lifestyle companies. despite its steady growth into new industries & expanding outlets, camilleriparismode still retains the same core values at its heart, thanks in no small part to its family-run ethos.

established in 1890 under the name “a la ville de lyon” by paolo camilleri on merchant street selling clothes, accessories, handbags, hats & haberdashery items, paolo was then succeeded by his two sons, carmelo & giuseppe. the two went separate ways in 1927 & that is when the name “camilleri paris mode” was coined which was chosen to highlight that most items were imported from the french capital which was the epitome of glamour during the 1920s.

carmelo’s four sons; lewis, nicholas (sunny), joseph & paul joined the business however following joseph’s & paul’s untimely deaths it was sunny & lewis who kept the wheels turning within the business. they took their nephews, anthony, franco & victor, under their wing & passed on their retail foresight to the three current directors of camilleriparismode.

1990 saw the opening of the sliema shop in annunciation square which played a pivotal role in the growth of the company as it established camilleriparismode as the paramount shop for fabrics & trimmings. the shop was refurbished in the year 2000 along with the launch of a new concept store through the introduction of home decoration & lifestyle aspects. these included furniture, decorative objects, tableware, perfumery & lighting. together, the family sought out to identify special & unique items that were lacking in the local interiors market in malta.

throughout the decade the company kept on growing & increasing product lines & services to serve the local market needs. the design & projects studio was set up in 2007 & now houses a team of professional architects & designers who handle the design of a space from start to finish- from concept & creation to construction & finishing.

the opening of the rabat shop in 2009 saw the realisation of a long-standing dream- a 1000 square meter premises which encapsulates all that camilleriparismode has to offer. rabat is now the hub of it all where all product lines & services can be found.

today, camilleriparismode continues to operate as a family run business through several prestigious outlets in malta: valletta; the island’s capital & commercial hub, the historic town of rabat, modern & cosmopolitan sliema.

camilleriparismode has developed from a company trading in fine fabrics to one that today offers a diverse collection of home interiors, quality furnishings, lifestyle products & more. aside from this, the company also operates a dedicated fashion & bridal section, specialising in providing the finest bridal & fashion fabrics available anywhere in malta. all products are carefully sourced & hand-selected from only the most reputable fashion houses & interior designers in europe, providing a beautiful selection from the classic to the modern & the eclectic.

2015 marked camilleriparismode’s 125th year of business with fourth & fifth generation camilleri members managing the company to this day. with camilleriparismode’s commitment to offering quality service to its discerning clients, the team endeavours to innovate & advance whilst respecting their past &  striving to keep things that little bit out of the ordinary.
